Ronald (Ron) L Clavel, age 73, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane WA, on July 14,2024 after a brave battle with Guillain-Barre syndrome. He was surrounded by loved ones.  Born in Spokane in January 1951 to John & Carmelita Clavel, he attended St. Charles Catholic School, Glover Middle School and Shadle Park High School. He married the love of his life Diane in 1975 and they raised 4 children together.

Ron began working for the City of Spokane, Solid Waste Department in 1974 until he retired in 2013. Ron was a quiet and reserved man but loved a good time. His hobbies included camping, puzzle books, playing cards, & floating in his pool. Ron was an avid football fan of the Seattle Seahawks and WSU. He also enjoyed watching Gonzaga Men's Basketball and NASCAR.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Diane; his children Joe (Casey), Emily, Katie (Micah) Blake, & Dan (Nicole); his brother Robert, his sisters Celeste (Julie) and Joanne; a niece, three nephews; and his eight grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents John & Carmelita, his brother Didacus (Johnny), his sister Mary, sister-in-law Ramona, and nephew Chris and his wife MaryEllen.

We express our gratitude for the ICU staff at Sacred Heart for their care, compassion and kindness in his last days, not only for Ron but the family as well.
