Obituary

Sally Jean (Gay) Kimmet, was born on January 31, 1944, to Maurice (Morris) and Kay Gay, in Glasgow, Montana. They moved to Spokane in 1949, and grew up in the Audubon area with her brother, Bob.

She attended St. Charles school when it very first opened, then worked to put herself through Marycliff High School, graduating in 1962. She worked at the neighborhood grocery store in the bakery department, where she met and later married Roger R. Kimmet in August of 1964. They loved to square dance, go camping and getting together with friends.

Sally was primarily a stay-at-home mother to her children, involving them in school and other activities. In the late 1970's, she went to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital on the post-surgery floor.

She was a talented artist and created many ceramic items before changing her passion to porcelain doll making. She won countless ribbons and trophies for her work and was well known for the dolls she created.  She owned Tender Loving Crafts for over 20 years, where she maintained one of the largest collections of doll-making materials throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roger, her parents and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her two children; Kelley (Arnold) and her husband, Vince; and David, his wife, Malinda (Stasch), along with her grandkids, Mike Arnold and Katie Arnold; and Tyler Kimmet (wife Katie) and Isaac Kimmet (wife Megan); and her new great-granddaughter Fiona Kimmet.
