Sally Joan
O'Brien
May 14, 1941 – December 25, 2022
Sally Joan O'Brien was born in Spokane, Washington to Robert and Eunice O'Brien on May 14th, 1941. She died in Spokane, Washington on December 25th, 2022 at the age of 81 due to prolonged health challenges.
Sally spent much of life in real estate here in Spokane. Sally entered into real estate in partnership with her mother. They enjoyed years of success before Sally ultimately took over the firm after her mother's retirement. After closing the firm, she remained active in real estate throughout the remainder of life. Sally was a deeply devoted practitioner of the Catholic faith. She was an active member of the church and spent many decades in the choir. For most, Sally will certainly be best remembered by her devotion to her work and her faith. For a few, Sally will be remembered as something close to a mother of the neighborhood.
Sally is survived by her only son, Sean Avant, daughter-in-law Rachelle and her beloved grandchildren Preston and Ashlyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary and Maureen O'Brien. She joins a third sister, Shari, who preceded her in death. Sally is also survived by several nieces and nephews that meant the world to her as well as close friends and colleagues. In her later years, she was supported by Niki Anderson and Bob Travis (and others at Windermere Manito) for which her family will be forever indebted for such selfless action.
