Obituary

Sue passed peacefully in her sleep at St, Joseph's Rehabilitation center after many battles with several medical issues, on April 2, 2022, at the age of 75. Born as Susan Mitchell, the middle daughter of Stephen and Loris Mitchell's four children. She worked as a nurse for her entire career until retirement in 2012.  She graduated from Mary Cliff High in 1965 and then from Spokane Community College School of Nursing in 1979. In the years between high school and college she had married and 4 sons (Kevin, Robert, Joseph and David).

Her 4 greatest pleasures in life were her faith in God, her family, the career she chose and the GU men's basketball team. Her faith was exemplified in her daily study of the word and spending lots of time in meditation on the word of God. She was also a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she attended every Sunday until she had to be in a rehabilitation Center.  She is survived by her 4 sons, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren as well as her youngest sister Stephanie and her older brother James (Mitch). Sue spent 33 years in nursing working in hospitals and nursing homes in the Spokane area and Garland Texas area. Her final pleasure was to watch the GU men's basketball program cheering them on and hoping she would see them win a championship.
