Susan Kent Sullivan, age 66, of Spokane, passed away peacefully in her home on August 8, 2023. She was with family at the time of her death. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas More Parish in Spokane on August 29th at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Sue was born in 1956 in Rockford, Illinois and resided in Spokane most of her life. Her parents were Tom and Betty Kent. Sue married Dan Sullivan in 1981 and they had 2 children, Kent (deceased) and Christina.

Sue attended Shadle Park High School, Eastern Washington University and Intercollegiate Nursing Center (ICNE). She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at Eastern State Hospital and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. "I went into nursing so I could help people," Sue.

Sue was devoted to caring for her children. Kent required extra help due to a congenital form of Muscular Dystrophy. Sue continued to care for Kent as a young adult, until her own illness made it too difficult for her to provide the care he needed. Family vacations; visiting with family and friends; and her Bible study group also brought her joy.

Sue is survived by her husband Dan Sullivan; daughter Christina (Dave) Walton; sisters Carol (Rodger) Grass and Linda (Kevin) McCray; and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation at myotonic.org in her name.
