Obituary

In Loving Memory of Thomas E. Geraghty

Thomas E. Geraghty

August 5, 1945 – August 28, 2026

Thomas E. Geraghty passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and man of faith, Tom lived a life rooted in love, family, service, and the enduring grace of God.

Tom was the beloved husband of Karen Geraghty, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, cherished memories, and a beautiful family. Their enduring marriage was a testament to the blessings of commitment, faith, and companionship.

Tom was a longtime parishioner of Assumption Parish, where his Catholic faith was an important part of his life. He generously gave of his time and talents to his parish community, including serving for a time as President of the Parish Council. Through his service, Tom demonstrated his commitment to his faith, his parish family, and the community he called home.

Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life and loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed bike riding and golfing, as well as staying busy with yard work and caring for his home and outdoor surroundings. These activities reflected his appreciation for being active, enjoying the outdoors, and making the most of each day. Above all, Tom treasured the time spent with his family and the memories created together.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen; his daughter, Kristy, and her children, Melvin and Mira; and his son, Tom Jr., and his wife, Julie, and their children, Matthew, Mikayla, and Madelyn. Tom was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Zoey, who brought him great joy and pride.

He is also survived by his brother, Mike Geraghty, and his wife, Linda; his sister, Mary, and her husband, Carl; and his sister, Kathleen.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Gladys Geraghty, and his brother, Jack Geraghty.

Tom’s greatest legacy is the love he gave to his family, his devotion to his faith, and the memories he leaves in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a reflection of the Catholic values of faith, family, compassion, and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and in knowing that he is now at peace in the loving presence of God.

May the Lord welcome Tom into His eternal kingdom, where there is no more sorrow or pain, but only everlasting peace and joy. May he rest knowing that the family he loved so dearly will carry his memory, his example, and his love in their hearts for generations to come.
