Wayne McGavran, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by family.

Wayne was born December 2, 1946, in Newport Washington.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years,

Sharon; his three children Marisa McGavran, Mark (Christa) McGavran, Melanie (Matthew) Shanks;

and his 5 grandchildren Michael, Victoria, Sharon, Alex, and Liam.  Wayne bravely served his country during

Vietnam in the 4th Infantry.  He had a strong work ethic and devoted his life to his family.

He worked as an engineer, retiring after 32 years, from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

He continued working after retirement with Shamrock Paving, David Evans, and the City of Spokane Valley.

Wayne was a devout Catholic who demonstrated his faith in both words and his willingness to always help others.

He brought joy and laughter every day to all those around him.  He was eternally loved and adored

by his family and will remain forever in their hearts.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made

to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude's Hospital.
