William Dallas
Bell
December 6, 1931 – March 5, 2025
William (Bill) Dallas Bell, 93, of Spokane, Washington passed away during the early morning hours of March 5, 2025, at Hospice House of Spokane. Born on December 6, 1931, in Alton, Illinois to Omah and Francis Bell. Bill was known for his love of sports and his loyalty to his alma mater Gonzaga and the Bulldogs.
Bill proudly served in the USAF stationed at Fairchild AFB from 1951-1955. Soon after he married Dorothy (Tootie) O'Neil. They moved back to Alton and started their family with a daughter, Linda. They eventually relocated back to Spokane and had two more daughters, Peggy and Patty.
Bill worked for the USPS, Social Security Administration, and retired as the regional manager for HUD. He was a member of the Elks Club and Downriver and Wandermere mens club. It was during these times he carded several hole in ones. The weekly rabbit game was particularly something he looked forward to as it upped the challenge of the game. Additionally, the weekly poker games at the VFW Club brought up rousing discussions.
Bill and Tootie made many memories traveling across the nation and internationally which also included that 4 letter word (as Tootie would say). GOLF!
When off the golf course he loved spending his time at the family lake cabin at Priest Lake boating, dancing at Grandview, huckleberry picking, happy hours with the neighbors, spending time with his grandchildren, and Priest Lake rummy.
Bill had a love for reading. Especially his newspaper. The day wasn't complete until he read every word from cover to cover including the legal notices.
Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tootie, his parents, Omah and Francis Bell. Brother Frank Bell and grandson Charlie Dahmen
He is survived by his daughters Linda (Rick) Dahmen, Peggy Lynch, and Patty Bell. Brother Tom (Kay) Bell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren Kayla (Jeff) Romane, Evan Lynch, and Parker White. Greatgrandchildren Harrison Michael Romane, Kendall Charlie Romane
