William A. Farrer was born 7/22/1931 in Bandera, Texas to Charles and Ruby Farrer. Bill passed away 12/8/2019 in Spokane, Washington. He is preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 57 years, their son Michael and Bill's brother, Charles. He is survived by his sister, Lois. Bill and Patricia have 6 children; Michael, Marianne, Melinda, Kathy, Charlie and Bill Jr. They have 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his second wife of 9 years, Johanna, and her children, Dave, Randy, Todd and Amy. Bill and Johanna shared a passion for bowling. They bowled together in 2 leagues at Spokane Valley Bowl for the last several years.
William, who is known by his friends and family as Bill, entered the Air Force in 1950, turning down a scholarship to Texas A&M. He served in active duty until 1954. He then attended the University of Idaho, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. Bill worked as a Landscape Architect for Walt Ritter's Nursery and later had his own business, Farrer's Landscaping Service. Bill entered the Air Force Reserve in 1954 till his unit disbanded in 1964. He then enlisted in the 242 Air National Guard and trained for Air Traffic Control. He retired in 1991 as Chief Master Sergeant.
Bill's passions were bowling, gardening, garden design and coin collecting. He was a decades long member of the Spokane Coin Club and the Coeur d' Alene Coin Club, where he made many great friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
